Playing
Do I need a screen?
No. Every pack has a print version with a quizmaster script and answer sheets that works without internet. If you do have a screen or projector, the same quiz runs on it with its own host screen.
How long is an evening?
Six rounds run about two hours including a break. Every pack shows its estimated time, and you can skip rounds or add a bonus round.
How many people can play?
From two tables to a full room. The answer sheets are made for twelve tables; print more if you need them.
Can I change the quiz?
Before you start you set the options: a clock per question, points off for a wrong answer, rounds skipped. Adding your own questions comes later, with the builder.
What if my internet drops?
Print the pack in advance. The script and the sheets hold everything you need, answers and sources included.
The questions
Is it all actually right?
Every question carries a source with the sentence its answer rests on, and a program re-fetches those pages automatically to check that the sentence is still there. If it is gone, the question goes back into the queue.
Are the questions written by a computer?
The first draft is. After that every source is checked and a person reviews it before anything is published. We think saying so is fairer than pretending otherwise.
How do you mark answers?
Generously where we can: a spelling slip of a few letters counts, and so does an answer that sounds right but is spelled differently. Strictly where we must: known traps do not count, because Delft is not The Hague.
Can I see where an answer comes from?
Yes. The host console has a button that shows the source. It is not on screen by default while playing, because it distracts.
Buying and paying
Can I buy anything yet?
Not yet. No company is registered, and without a chamber of commerce and VAT number nothing may be sold. The free quiz you can play right now.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes, by the month. No annual contract and no notice period.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes, with a VAT number, as you would expect from a Dutch supplier.
Refunds?
At checkout you agree that delivery starts immediately, which waives the right of withdrawal — as it does for all digital content you can use straight away. If something is genuinely wrong with a pack, email us and we will sort it.
Music and rights
Is the music included?
No, and that is deliberate. You get a track list with cue times and a playlist; you play the music from your own source.
Do I need a music licence?
For music in a venue, yes, from your local collecting societies. That applies to all the music you play, not only the quiz.
Can I share a pack with a colleague?
No. A licence covers your venue or your living room. Every pack carries a mark identifying the buyer, so a shared file can be traced.
